Sold is scheduled to open the 12th IFFLA which runs from April 8 – 13 in Hollywood, CA. This will be the LA premiere of Sold. Individual screening tickets go on sale March 20.

A girl risks everything for freedom after being trafficked from her mountain village in Nepal to a brothel in India.

“Because of SOLD’s marvelous script and courageous and brilliant cast,” said Emma Thompson, “it is a story that we can ALL watch – so that we may understand the processes of slavery in modern India and feel able to act without feeling the kind of rage and hopelessness that gets in the way of doing anything.”

Amazon UK has Sister available for pre-order. It’s available starting March 11.

Starring Lea Seydoux, Gillian Anderson, Martin Compston and with a star turning performance from 12 year old Kacey Mottet Klein this is a film that shows us the real scenes behind a luxury ski resort and the people that inhabit it.

Simon (Mottet Klein) lives with his older sister (Seydoux) in a housing complex below a luxury Swiss ski resort. With his sister drifting in and out of jobs and relationships, twelve-year-old Simon takes on the responsibility of providing for the two of them. Every day, he takes the lift up to the opulent ski world above, stealing equipment from rich tourists to resell to the local kids down in the valley. He is able to keep their little family afloat with his small-time hustles and his sister is thankful for the money he brings in. But, when Simon partners with a crooked British seasonal worker, he begins to lose his boundaries, affecting his relationship with his sister and plummeting him into dangerous territory.
